PRESERVING UGANDA'S NATURAL LEGACY

"The Pearl of Africa's beauty shines so bright,
From Mabira's forests to the Mountains of the Moon's light,
But pollution and deforestation threaten to destroy,
The land, the wildlife, and the people's joy.

The Nile's waters, once pure and clean,
Now choke with plastic and industrial sheen,
The forests fall, the wildlife disappears,
And the future of Uganda's children fears.

But still we have hope, a chance to make right,
To protect the land, the air, and the light,
To choose sustainable paths, to conserve and to care,
For the future of Uganda, and the world we share.

Let us join hands, to save our home so dear,
To plant trees, to reduce, to reuse, to clear,
The pollution, the waste, the harm we've done,
And restore the beauty, the wonder, the fun.

For Uganda's future, for the planet's sake,
Let us conserve, let us protect, for our own sake,
The land, the water, the air, the wildlife too,
For a brighter tomorrow, a future anew."

THE BIG CONCERN A concern with the environment is so important for us because we live from it,we live in it and we live with it. By saying that "we live from it" is meant that it provides us with the means to our livelihood. It provides us the raw materials needed for daily productive activities so much. We grow crops in the environment and we get food, we mine the environment's resources.  "We live in it" means that the environment is not just a physical pre-codition for human life and productive activity. It is where we lead our daily lives. Environment matters to us for social ,economic and cultural reasons.
