Let’s Stop Throwing Trash in Drainage Channels As We Head To the Rainy Season.

Let’s Stop Throwing Trash in Drainage Channels As We Head To the Rainy Season . The rainy season is approaching, bringing heavy rainfall almost every day. Rain is a blessing that nourishes crops, trees, and water sources, helping farmers and sustaining communities. However, it can also create serious challenges if we are not prepared. One of the biggest problems is flooding, which happens when drainage channels are blocked with trash and plastics. When water cannot flow freely, it overflows into homes, roads, and markets, causing damage to property, disrupting daily life, and sometimes endangering lives. The good news is that flooding is preventable if we all take responsibility. By keeping our surroundings clean, clearing drainage channels, disposing of waste properly, and joining in community clean-up activities, we can reduce the risk of floods. Flooding is not just a government issue but a community concern that affects everyone. If we work together and act early, the rainy s...

THE LUNGS OF THE WORLD

THE LUNGS OF THE WORLD T rees are just amazing, aren't they? From the really tall ones you see in pictures to the big forests that stretch for miles, they're always there, quietly working to keep our planet healthy. They're so important, in fact, that people often say trees are like the lungs of the world. And it's a really good way to think about it!  Think about how your own lungs work: you breathe in air, use what you need, and breathe out what you don't. Trees do something similar, but in reverse, and it's absolutely vital for us. They breathe in the carbon dioxide that we and our cars and factories put into the air, and then they breathe out the oxygen that every living thing needs to survive. This whole process is called photosynthesis, and it's how trees make their food. It's a perfect swap that has kept life going on Earth for a very, very long time.   You know how there's a lot more carbon dioxide in the air now because of all the things we ...

PRIORITISING HEALTH OVER PROFIT UNDER ONE MEDICAL UMBRELLA TO REALISE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOAL NO. 3

PRIORITISING HEALTH OVER PROFIT UNDER ONE MEDICAL UMBRELLA TO REALISE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOAL NO. 3  In the field of medicine, the primary goal should always be to prioritize the health and well-being of patients. This is the main reason why many people choose to go to medical school to save lives, not to make money. While it is true that everyone needs money for personal growth and development, it becomes meaningless if the people we are meant to help and grow with are no longer around.  When healthcare professionals focus more on making money rather than saving lives, it undermines the very purpose of their profession. High medical bills can discourage patients from seeking the care they need, potentially leading to worsening health conditions or even death. Therefore, it is crucial for medical practitioners to put the needs of their patients first.  A life saving approach in healthcare means ensuring that patients receive the best possible care without the fear of...

WHY YOU SHOULD TEACH YOUR TODDLERS THE IMPORTANCE OF NATURE

WHY YOU SHOULD TEACH YOUR TODDLERS THE IMPORTANCE OF NATURE   Teaching toddlers about nature is not just a lesson; it is a step towards creating a future where caring for the environment comes naturally. Every time a toddler touches grass, splashes in a puddle, or watches a bird, they are building a lifelong bond with the world around them. These small moments lay the foundation for how they will see and treat the environment as they grow. Introducing toddlers to nature early on has many benefits.  First, it feeds their natural curiosity. Children learn through their senses, and nature is the perfect place for them to explore. They can feel the roughness of tree bark, hear birds singing, smell flowers, see colourful butterflies, and even taste fruits like berries with guidance. These experiences are fun, but they also help their brain grow, improving memory and language as they describe what they see and feel. Being in nature also keeps toddlers healthy. Studies show that chil...
