WHAT I LEARNT FROM THE PEOPLE'S SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDGs) FESTIVAL
Everyday we strive to be better in all spheres of life because we have to. Sometimes we adopt behaviours that we think will help us in achieving our goals. It's always good and better to adopt the behaviours that will really drive you to prosperity. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) can be the 17 behaviours that can help us build behavioural changes that will be the pivots of development in the different communities we belong to.
As on the people that attended the recently concluded People's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) festival held at Lugogo Grounds Kampala, i came to realise that we all have a responsibility to ensure that the behavioural concepts embedded in the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are are adopted by everyone in order to move into the journey of success and development for everyone. Both the young, old and the marginalised groups or people. No one should be left behind.
With the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) well understood by people in the world and in the communities to which we belong to, we shall be who we want to be because the 17 SDGs want us to be better people, better communities and a better world. Like a new child when borne, the parents strive hard to have their child grow everyday through following a systematic procedure e.g. feeding the child on healthy growing foods. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the kinds of concepts that I can relate to foods which parents feed on their newly borne children. We may not be babies or communities that are malnourished in terms of the fundamental growth of people and communities but however on the other hand, we still need to grow stronger everyday.
Dear youth, women, men, women, young and old, it's by ourselves that the different communities we live in shall grow and develop. Let's adopt the ways that will or shall help us develop and this could be done through adopting the 17 SDGs by incorporating them into our everyday living standards. As a Youth, i have and will al5dedicate myself to localize the 17 SDGs to the lowest concentrations of people (people living in the rural areas) who could or may not be able to understand the wonderful information embedded in the 17 SDGs. The messages in the SDGs can be achieved. Let no one be left behind because we are interdependent on each other and by having ourselves live in better communities, life will be will or shall be enjoyed by everyone.
I want to thank the various stakeholders and institutions that organised the PEOPLE'S SUSTSINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS FESTIVAK Kampala for your playing the roles given to you and it's time for us as individuals, organisations, other government institutions to bring in our supporting efforts so as to achieve the common goals or interests of the Sustaianbale Development Goals (SDGs)
